Bio
Bruce Rosenblum
Late blooming singer-songwriter
Growing up in Boston in the 60's and 70's, I was engulfed in the folk and independent music scene. By the time I was 16, I was writing songs and playing regularly in coffee houses, on college campuses and at protest gatherings with my folk duo, Yamakraw.
Then in my 20's reality intervened--careers, marriage, kids--and that part of my life went into hibernation for decades. But it has come roaring back in the last several years. During Covid lockdown, I started writing and playing actively again, and over one six month period challenged myself to write and record a song a week. I still draw from that output, but now that songwriting is back in the muscle memory, the ideas continue to come, and I write when the "spirit moves". My lyrics reflect a more mature perspective now, but a lot of the passion of my youth remains.
In 2025, I went into the studio and recorded 13 of my favorite songs, just released as a full length album, Never Too Late. These songs reflect different aspects of my eclectic musical tastes: country-folk-rock tunes; ballads with classically arranged accompaniments; and jazz-inflected songs, including "My Way Home," which received the 2026 Gold Award in the Vocal Jazz/Blues category of the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest. The months ahead will see an increased emphasis on live performance--stay tuned for further information!
